what size are these? 22? as in, are they fine, or thick?

I don't know the exact size but they are very fine & long. That's why I like them. I'm a quilter & use them all the time.

Are these steel pins or nickel plated brass pins?

Check out the Dritz website, it says nickel plated. http://www.dritz.com/quilting-sewing-supplies/quilting/pins-pin-cushions/glasshead-pins/3035/#sthash.seQPvK08.dpbs

Where are these made?

They are made in China.

Is it 50 of each color?

Yes, it's 50 of each color. Very thin and very sharp.

Are these good enough to use for 14oz Thick Cotton Hoodies ?

These pins are VERY sharp but also very thin. They are flexible so because I'm not familiar with how thick this fabric is I'm not exactly sure. I have used them to pin together a piece of flannel and a piece of minky fabric to make a baby blanket and had no problems. I hope this helps you.

Are these good for floating a thicker adult hoodies and Cotton T shirts for embroidery single needle machines?

I don’t think these are a good choice for use on thick hoodie fabric. They are very thin, which is why I love them because machine needles almost always glide around them. So my answer is no because they will bend badly if you try to use them on anything thicker than quilting fabric. Great product but not for your purpose- save your money...

What is the diameter of the shaft?

These pins don't mention the thickness of the shaft. Clover makes the 1.5 length in a .4mm. Hope this helps
