What is the largest quilt that can be quilted on this machine
I"ve been quilting for 56 years. I have the experience of quilting king size bedspreads 112 inches long, by 116 inches wide, on domestic sewing machines. The size of the quilt does not matter when you are machining a quilt. Machining a quilt is moving the job under the needle, instead of standing at a movable machine mounted on a frame, moving the needle over the quilt. The Width of the quilt matters If you are attaching the quilt to a free mounted longarm frame.
Can I take this item to a local authorized dealership for servicing and will they honor the warranty?
As long as you registered it I believe yes
Will this machine handle a Denim slip cover?
If you are not using a very thick denim you might be able to. This machine gives no extra clearance to get things under the needle. Most machines, even $99 Singers, you can push up on the presser bar lifter and gain a bit of space, not on this machine. I sent it back because I couldn't get 2 layers of fleece and 2 layers of t-shirt knit under the presser foot at the same time. I was making lined hoodies for my grandsons.
How does the warranty work since this isn’t purchased directly through Janome?
If you sent in your registration paper work, then Janome should honor the warranty.
Is the lcd screen backlit? i heard there was a glitch with screen.
Yes, the LCD screen it is backlit. I bought this machine in mid-April and have been using it nearly daily ever since, and have had no issues at all with mine.
Does this have free arm
yes you can remove part of the platform and make it into free arm.
Will this sew leather?
I would change to the heavy duty needle, but it is for quilting, decorating, and crafts. So I would expect it to work.

Does this machine have 'top stitch'?
Of course. You can top stitch using any sewing machine.
How hard is this to use “I’m a beginner
This machine is very easy to learn to use. The automatic functions took me a very short time to get used to as I have only used a manual machine. I absolutely LOVE this machine and my sewing is better. It won't let you make some of the common beginner mistakes which are so frustrating like starting to stitch without lowering the pressure foot. I consider myself an advanced beginner. Please do read the manual thoroughly before using. You don't need to memorize as you can refer back to the details, but just knowing things like certain stitches require certain feet or being aware of limits on stitch length seemed important to this beginner.
