after printing around 20 shirts the machine started acting up. The treads kept breaking and the needles were not catching the bobbin. What do we do?

first, change the needles and re-thread everything completely. Also, check that the bobbin area is clean and installed correctly. If that does not help I would suggest you contact your closest Janome service center. With a tool like this, it is important to have a relationship with your closest dealer, they do require service and the stronger your relationship the better.

How do I stop the needle from breaking?

You should probably contact your local dealer. To answer that question we would need a little more information. There are a lot of variables, type of needle, quality of embroidery design, density of stitches, fabric, etc. Make sure you are threading exactly how the manual instructs. Make sure you are using quality embroidery needles. If you are embroidering on heavy fabric or multiple layers try the design on a thinner fabric or single layer and see what happens. If you are using a design that did not come with the machine try a built-in design and see if you have the same results. Overall make friends with your local dealer, you will need them for service and such.

Is there a way to download new fonts unto the machine and how?

Your cannot download fonts but you can imports words and letters from your USB drive.

Is there a trace, rotate or manual color change function?

Yes it is on the screen of the machine.

how does it works? can it embroider an image format?

It will work with all .jef files.

Does this have an automatic needle threaded?

No, but it comes with a needle threader tool to assist you. It is very easy. You can do a google search for "Threading The Needle With The Needle Threader - Janome MB-4S" and view the page in the instructions that illustrates how it is done.
