HIGH QUALITY BUTTONHOLES:
HZL Series has a wide armpit space. Working with large projects is more pleasant and comfortable | High-quality buttonholes: The HZL series sews beautiful buttonholes, regardless of the type of material. < > buttonhole types are available to suit your needs
The advantage of easy-feed, top-loading bobbins is that you can easily see how much thread is left on the bobbin through the window. You do not need to remove the bobbin case to install a new bobbin and you do not need to remove the accessory tray from the free arm to change bobbins. Drop-in bobbin sewing machines also have fully rotating metal hooks that move in one direction, are quieter and require less lubrication than the oscillating shuttle hook and removable bobbin case system
does this sewing machine come with a hard cover for storage?
It does have a hard cover although there is an opening on top for the carry handle (which is attached to the machine). I put a small hand towel over mine just to make sure it stays clean and dust free. I really do love this sewing machine and hope to keep it for a long time!
made in USA or China?
Juki is a Japanese company with factories in Japan, Vietnam, and China. All their machines are designed in Japan and produced in one of those three factories. I believe this model comes out of the China Factory.
Does this machine have self adjusting tension?
I believe so. I never have to adjust the tension.
Instruction manual does not mention lubricating the machine and it has not come with oil. Please advise re lubricating.
You should have the machine serviced once a year and that should be sufficient for lubrication. Modern machines do not need as much lubrication.
Can this machine handle leather, denim and other heavy fabrics or multiple layers of fabric?
It can definitely handle multiple layers of fabric, and fabric of different types. It can even handle different amounts of layers in the same sewed piece--the main presser foot has a knob you pull out to hold the foot at the level you want. The topstitch footer assumes multiple layers of fabric. You may need to guide the fabric through a bit to make sure it doesn't get stuck, but otherwise, does fine. For denim, I'm assuming you're asking about hemming jeans. I didn't cut off the original hem, so the machine struggled a bit at the seams since at that point it was 6+ denim layers. I just went back and reinforced those areas by hand. I haven't tried leather specifically, but I imagine it would work as long as you have the right needle.
Does this machine do embroidery? (I claim to know nothing about sewing machines!)
no this is just a sewing machine. Anything that is an embroidery machine also will say "embroidery int the title"
Is there an extension table available for this machine?
You can buy extension tables for any machine from sewsteady
