Product Description

The NEW Juki TL-2010Q is a high quality sewing and quilting machine. The TL-2010Q is a portable single-needle lockstitch machine made of die-cast aluminum to ensure industrial-quality sewing. With advanced features such as an industrial under-tension system, variable speed control slider and bright white LED lighting, this machine is built for precision sewing. With a large working area up to < > inches (with extra table attached), the TL-2000Qi handles large quilting, sewing or home decor projects with ease. The new TL-2010Q allows you to trim top and bobbin threads with the exclusive foot-operated trimming system. Just shake your heel back on the foot pedal and the wire is cut quickly and accurately. The machine is also equipped with an automatic thread button that simultaneously cuts the needle and bobbin thread at the sewing end by lightly pressing the push button. Both the cutter button and foot pedal engage the advanced Juki industrial style thread cutter. It also prevents the thread from vibrating when sewing at high speeds and provides precise, finely adjusted thread tension. The machine also has the thread tension scale, which allows you to adjust the tension according to the thread and the material to be used. The new speed lever gives you full control over the sewing speed. The microcomputer-controlled speed control mechanism allows the machine to sew materials at low speeds. This ensures precise feed and perfect sewing when sewing heavy fabrics, quilting and multiple layers of fabric. When you stop sewing, the machine stops with the needle down to allow turning or more precise free motion work. The automatic needle threader with pressure lever threads the needle easily without eye fatigue and ensures that you can start sewing quickly. The knee lift height allows you to raise/lower the presser foot without using your hands. The presser foot can be raised up to 12 mm.

What is the size of the throat on this machine?

The actual size of the throat is 8 1/2". That is measuring from machine to needle point. Let us know if we can help you further.

When was this machine manufactured? How long is the warranty?

I don't know. I bought my first one two years ago and a second one a year ago (for a second home). So I imagine they were manufactured the year I bought them. I never worried about the warranty because I've owned Jukis before. both commercial and semi-professional and have never had any problem. As far as I'm concerned, they could be sunk with the Titanic, brought up again, and they would still sew. This machine is tough and reliable.

How much oil should I be using? Is it possible to over oil it, and would that do any damage to the machine?

I use about one drop of oil in each oil hole about once week, more often if I am sewing a lot everyday, maybe once every three days. If you have oil showing up on your presser foot, you are probably using too much, also, too much oil and it can leak out of the buttons for cutting and up,down needle.

Has anyone had problems with this machine? I had to return the first one to Juki because the machining of the needle hole was wrong.

Apparently there is a needle plate with a slightly larger hole to replace the original when sewing heavier fabric or seams. This according to a video reviewing this machine by Sara Lawson of SewSweetness dot com

when fmq, stippling, the machine skips stiches. i've rethreaded, new needle, tried different size needles, cleaned, etc. any suggestions?

I haven't had any trouble with my machine and skipped stitches unless I'm going to fast compared to the needle. If you've had it a while, have you oiled all the places it needs it, including down in the bobbin area? I missed that spot the first several times I oiled and started having some drag there, but once oiled, it behaved again.

What is the warranty on this machine and how do you go about providing help if it needs to be serviced since it is purchased online.

Hi Ivette, Please call the store at 800-442-8227 and talk to our sewing specialist regarding the warranty on this machine. Thank you Scott

Do I need to purchase a silicone foot separate?

The machine came with several feet. I don’t know what a silicone foot is though. After purchase I ordered an open toe foot & an open toe free motion foot. I feel all set & the machine is wonderful for sewing & quilting! Happy to have a machine that’s strong & not made of plastic!
