I just received my shears and they are difficult to open and close is that normal? Or did I get a dud?

Mine were also really hard to open and close initially. They have started to loosen up a bit, but still not the easy smooth way high end scissors are. BUT, they have worked so well on cutting through fabric that I forgave that aspect of them. Mine are razor sharp at the moment, even after using them a few months.

Is it easy to use?

Yes they're very easy to use. The grips are comfortable and soft so my hands don't hurt after using them for a few hours.

Does this price include both the scissors shown in the picture or just one?

This item offers 3 options. You can select the orange sheers only for 12.99, the pink sheers only for 12.99 or both for 23.99. Click the box that you want.

Will these scissors cut 1/6th inch thick or heavier leather?

Although I was able to cut through 6 layers of fabric, I do not think these scissors are made for heavy leather. They work best cutting through about four layers of cotton fabric. Hope this helps.

What is the difference in the 2? I want them to help with cutting cotton fabrics since I don’t have a serger.

Scalloped edge is more decorative. I use mine if I am cutting out felt. Either should work for cotton fabric but I probably would use serrated for finishing edges.

Has anyone tried cutting gabardine fabric with this?

This is a hard fabric... But it can be done, just take your time a good luck

Will pinking the edge of denim in a fully enclosed seam be enough or would zigzagging be better?

Pinking should be enough if you like the look

I received no information on my scissors on the care of them would you please send me some information

I am a customer, I will maintain the scissors as my other sewing tools.

What do y’all use to grease the joint with?

Have never though about greasing the joint

I want to use these for paper crafts. To address dulling, can these be sharpened by cutting aluminum foil?

Sure,it's a great Scissor.I bought for cut fabric and it worked perfectly.
