Use SINGER All Purpose Machine Oil to keep your sewing machine running smoothly. The oil eliminates friction between touching metal parts and prevents damage caused by wear and rust. The specially formulated lubricant can be used on sewing/knitting machines, vacuum cleaners, household appliances, typewriters, computers, bicycle gears and other devices. Comes in a 4 ounce bottle.
What kind of applicator/tip does this bottle have? How long is it?
It is square and rigid and pivots from the down to the up position. It is less than 1/2" long-maybe only 1/4"? It is a miniature of the type of opening the Breck shampoo bottles used to have in the 1980's if you are old enough to remember.
Is this good for older sewing machines? I have a 1960 model. I am assuming it should be fine. These older ones are made to last.
I've used it on a 1900 Singer treadle machine and a 1950 featherweight and it's worked fine
What is the expiration date of the oil? I've checked other places locally, and the oil is expired at every store ( I.e. Craft and big box)
My bottle doesn't have an expiration date. My mom has a bottle from 40 years ago that she still uses on her sewing machine and it works fine. I can't see where an expiration would be of any concern.
can you use wahl clipper oil
It is probably light machine oil, like the Singer Machine oil, but I invested a couple of hundred dollars in my wife's machine, what is $6, just to be safe?
Is this a 20 wt oil? My rower needs 20 wt
Yes, this is 20 wt oil, it should work just fine.
How does this work for knife pivots?
I would think it would work good.
Can you use this oil for lubrication for blade opening/Closure?
If the blade is on the sewing machine you may want to use the Sewing Machine oil instead.
Where is the expiration date? Its supposed to be good for 5 years according to singer. I just need to know what it is. Thanks
The oil is good for 5 years.
Can this be shipped by air or is it considered a hazmat material?
No it can't
Can this work on the bearings of a computer fan?
The Singer Machine oil is made out of premium ultra-clean spindle oil. This oil has many applications but computer fan is not listed as one. I would research what type of oil your computer fan uses or contact the brand name company of your computer. Hope this helps.
