Many built-in stitches
70 stitches is a pretty respectable number of stitches and they include six fully automatic buttonholes, as well as several essential, decorative and stretch stitches.
These are suitable for just about any fashion item you can imagine. and they are easily accessible via the buttons on the front of the machine.
While it’s not the most impressive number of stitches, it’s excellent considering the center of the market price and there’s still more than enough to meet your needs – plus a few extras.
Fine Needle Work
The Fashion Mate can not only use two needles, but also has 13 different needle positions. This gives you more room for creativity in your project and, as an expert, more control over what you do.
We like the amount of creative freedom this machine offers, and we can certainly understand why it is so damn popular with fashionistas and wannabe clothing designers.
Super Smooth Feeding System
A good feed system makes it much easier to get significant results from your sewing.
Any machine that wants to provide a good finish will do its best to find a feed system that is worth your time. and Singer fulfilled this wish with the 6-segment feed.
No heavy fabrics
If you are skilled enough, you can use this machine for heavier fabrics without breaking it.
However, if you’re a beginner or don’t want to test your luck even as an expert, don’t take any chances. It’s not designed for heavy work, and if you want to make it your favorite machine for that kind of project, it can’t keep up.
Our advice? Invest in a good, heavy machine if you expect to do a lot of heavy work.
A learning curve for beginners
You can’t just jump into this machine with your eyes closed and with no experience, and expect to produce a Dior-worthy garment.
Ain’t going to happen.

We think both beginners and more experienced people can get a lot out of the Singer 7256 Fashion Mate – but the brand new sewers will need some work and research to get them up to speed quickly.
The Singer 7256 is an impressive sewing machine that offers a lot of creative freedom for the aspiring clothing designer..
It’s well priced, well made and a fast worker – just make sure you’re willing to put in the work to get results. And remember, this isn’t a heavy machine, so don’t treat it like a machine.
