The Positives
Fast and easy
From the automatic threader to the automatic tension adjuster, the Singer Fashion Mate does its best to provide as smooth a use.
The bobbin wider means there is no risk of over-winding your bobbins, and the automatic reverse button makes it much easier to be inventive with your patterns.
The feet adapt their pressure to the fabric you are using, reducing the risk of your fabric snagging.
Beginners and more experienced sewers anyone will find the Singer 7256 easy and a pleasure to use.
Many built-in stitches
70 stitches is a pretty respectable number of stitches and they include six fully automatic buttonholes, as well as several essential, decorative and stretch stitches.

Our advice? Invest in a good, heavy machine if you expect to do a lot of heavy work.
A learning curve for beginners
You can’t just jump into this machine with your eyes closed and with no experience, and expect to produce a Dior-worthy garment.
Ain’t going to happen.
The sewing speed is fast and the creative possibilities wide – you have to take some time to get to know the machine, experiment with what works for you and go from there. We did not build Rome in a day, and neither were your fashion sewing skills.
We think both beginners and more experienced people can get a lot out of the Singer 7256 Fashion Mate – but the brand new sewers will need some work and research to get them up to speed quickly.
